‘Becoming an online customer’ - more illusion than reality. ‘An unpleasant encounter’ these are the words customers would probably use to describe the process of opening an account and requesting a credit card. Whoever wants to purchase bank products online at the time is often found in the branch office and has to deal with a lot of paper work, countless points of contact and confusing documents. When a customer relies on the as simple promoted online offerings of a bank, all he gets are quite similar experiences that do not meet his needs. This result is obtained from the Namics Analysis “Becoming a Depositor – Struggles in Digital Times” which has examined the Onboarding process at 14 of the leading banks in Germany and Switzerland.
