Doctoral Consortium

Colloquium for doctoral candidates of information systems in St. Gallen on Saturday and Sunday, February 11 and 12, 2017.

  • October 15, 2016: Submission of Exposé (abstract)
  • December 01, 2016: Invitation of Doctoral Candidates
  • January 15, 2017: Submission of Full Version
  • February 11 and 12, 2017: Doctoral Consortium in St. Gallen

The Doctoral Consortium of the WI 2017 serves as an opportunity to further develop the dissertation projects of selected participants with the help of feedback and coaching by experienced professors from outside the small group of supervisors. The Doctoral Consortium is meant for doctoral candidates of information systems (or related disciplines with a subject-specific focus on information systems) who are in their second or third year of their doctorate studies. A three-page exposé (abstract) of the dissertation project serves as basis for the selection. Submitted exposés will be evaluated with regard to the importance and explanation of the research question, the scientific and subject-specific quality of the elaboration, the potential contribution of the candidate to the colloquium, and the potential benefit of the colloquium to the candidate by the participating professors. The submitters of the 20 best exposés will be invited to the Doctoral Consortium (acceptance rate ca. 20-30%, according to experience) and will then be asked to submit a full version. As the Doctoral Consortium is being financially supported by the conference, no further participation fee will be required to be paid. Catering during the Doctoral Consortium as well as an overnight stay at the Executive Campus of the HSG (during the night of February 11-12, 2017) will be covered by the organizer. The participants have to pay the costs for additional nights, traveling expenses, and the registration fee for the WI 2017 itself. No fixed format has been specified for the three-page exposé. Format requirements for the final contributions (full version) are consistent with those for the research contributions to the WI 2017. Abstracts and full versions should ideally be submitted in English. Presentations during the Doctoral Consortium can be held either in German or English.

Please submit your exposés (three pages plus references) for the Doctoral Consortium via the Easychair submission system.
